Whoa. What?

If this was posted by someone other, I might suspect Photoshop.

This is a beautiful flower! Please, oh please explain, however, why this flower seems to have 2 extra petals.

Looking more closely, is there also something going on with the column? The more I look at this flower, the more utterly fascinated I become.

Wow. If that does happen to be a genetically stable mutation rather than a one-time developmental glitch it represents a whole new breeding direction in Phals, in which case it is in the best possible hands. And I want to know when the first flasks will be available. The column does look odd. Does it have all its normal reproductive parts?

Hey everyone. This is just a glitch. It doesn't always happen. There are an extra two pairs of pollen around the column. This can happen to any Phalaenopsis flower. I don't know what triggers it. It happens rarely. If it's consistent I would want to clone it just for fun.
