Cool Doritaenopsis Taida Salu

Here is a new chid on the block...

It is Doritaenopsis Taida Salu. The label said Dtps. Talda Salu, when Googled, Taida Salu came up and the flowers sort of matched...you can be the judge and I know that you all want to .

I saw this at the Home Depot this morning and could not resist...for $8...I just had to...it needs a little work as soon as this flower is gone the spike is coming off...I was feeling a little punchy this evening...I was originally going to wait for the last flower to fall off, then proceed with a repotting and root examination. Might I say that I have never seen an orchid potted solely in moss, that was immediately canned, and the plastic pot got a good washing. This poor baby also had some root rot and those roots got a nice trimming and some sprinkling of cinnamon too. I put in some time release fertilizer and some Dyna-Gro KLN, just to help things along a little bit

This is also for the Florida Residents...if you have a Home Depot near you...they have Cymbidiums that are quite large, quite fragrant, and very healthy looking.

Hi guys, I use moss quite a bit for my phals (well charcol & moss). I think whether you use moss or mix depends on the plant AND where you grow.

I live in Calgary Alberta, Canada & we are considered a semi desert as a climate so it gets REALLY dry here especially in the winter & because it can get quite cold (like -45 C) we have central or forced air heating which can be devastating on both humans and plants. Try living with 29% humidity without breaking out that moisturizer! OY!!!!

regards, m
