I couldn't leave this one in the store. It was on sale because the flowers were starting to drop, but I couldn't resist their deep dark colour.
It has dropped its blooms completely since I brought it home, but looks healthy otherwise and I am looking forward to it (hopefully) blooming again later this year.

It's interesting that Carol, the Adopter of Lost Plants (and People), is the first to answer this post. Like her, though, I understand why that plant called to you. It's going to thrive in your care!
Well, John, we both pick up strays.
As Wesley said:
"Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can."
I'm sure he included all God's creatures in that phrase.
That's a great philosophy. Thanks for your encouragement everyone. I think I only have three orchids that were bought new, and two of those were gifts. I'm still new at this so I have a small collection of eleven plants in total, mostly Noid's (but I'm fine with that), and most of which were bought on sale. It's going to be fun to see what blooms turn out - if and when they eventually spike.
And it sounds like you're off to a good start! You'll get blooms, I've no doubt.
Something I learned about NoIDs - they're every bit as pretty as named plants. I'm never going to be crossing my orchids, so I just like the flowers. Besides, just like so many of my orchids I'm also a genetic NoID!!
