Shannan - That is the fullest peloric form I have ever seen .. most phals I have seen are partial even near partial but yours is complete .. Textbook example!
Excellent
Seems like the Tai Pei Gold hybrids tend toward this abnormal mutation - Very Interesting

Moogie - Congrats on your peloric blooms

Thanks, Dorothy! I couldn't resist it when I saw it as it was SO small - leaf span tip to tip is 3 inches! I had a feeling it was peloric because of the way the buds looked. I was very surprised when they started opening from the tip backwards....

I love peloric Phals! Thanks for sharing photos everyone - It's great to see all of these different ones.

A question for the observers of "peloria" in previously-sound flowers - are you using any rooting hormones?

My own experience has shown that in some circumstances they can lead to reversible flower deformation in phals.

No rooting hormone here. I purchased the orchid peloric and have had a peloric blooming, a normal blooming and now another peloric blooming. Nothing out of the ordinary - just orchid fertilizer and bloom booster. I only use distilled water.

Here is a picture of my Phal. Flower Child 'Carmela'. Unfortunately there was damage to the crown, so I'm not sure if it will ever come out of it's current funk. I was hoping it would Keiki, but so far no sign of that. Maybe if I repot I'll get some action.

Terri! That one is stunning! I sure hope it perks up and I think repotting is a great way to jolt it out of its slump!
