Default strange growth not root not spike o kiki

Ok so first of i have had this phal for 3 years and it blooms once every 8 months or so it had a little problem of over watering a few months back so i repotted and now its doing great 2 new leafs are growing and roots are healthy. One day when watering i noticed a new growth it looked like a spike it even had the mitten shape, but when it developed a little more it looks like leaves .. I thought basal kiki but as far as I know they grow at the base this is coming out from the exact spot where a spoke comes from (in between 2 leaves)and I dont think it's a terminal spoke because they grow from the center of the plant and there I already have 2 new beautiful leaves sprouting . Any help would be appreciated I couldn't find anything on the internet

It looks like a new vegetative growth (keiki.)

There is a microscopic, dormant growth bud at the base of each leaf of a monopodial orchid. It sometimes decides to grow. It can become a flower spike or it can become a new vegetative growth.

Sometimes it starts out thinking it will be one thing, then changes its mind and becomes another. Yours may have started out as a flower spike and changed to a vegetative growth.

It won't damage the plant. This is normal growth for happy Phals. I would leave it. When it gets bigger it will make flowers, too. The more growths, the more flowers. Phals with a lot of extra growths in flower are amazing.

If you do remove it, wait until it has a few leaves and 3-5 roots more than 2" / 5cm long. Smaller would be hard to survive separation.

Could it possibly be a terminal spike? A terminal spike is one that grows from the center of the foliage of a monopodial orchid, meaning that the plant will no longer be able to grow leaves from there. Healthy Phals usually put spikes out from the base of the plant or in between older leaves. a terminal spike on a Phal may signify that the plant is not healthy but is trying to find a way to keep on going. Sometimes Phals that do this will end up growing a basal keiki to try and replicate themselves, but in most cases they don't survive.

not a terminal spike...but a keiki off the side....it will just make a bigger prettier plant with more bloom spikes....have fun!

I would also vote to leave it. Where it is might damage the mother plant if you try to remove it from there. It will give you the chance for more blooms in a year or two.
