Default Phalaenopsis Cornings Violet

Got this one in april, and it bloomed in the summer. Nice color, and a nice scent- not really strong scent though.

In bloom

More light so you can see the glossy texture

This is the plant now, I like to see the plant for size, sometimes its hard to tell when you only see flowers

Some of these plants can rebloom from the same spike, havent checked if that goes for this one aswell (I read too much, so need to check again)- leaving the spikes until I know. Actually, I pretty much tend to leave them all until they die naturally.

What I like: color and scent, its a cute plant
What I dont like: the growing habit. Or, well- it is what it is, its the potting I dont like. It grows flat, so the flowers dont show very well in a windowsill. I'm gonna do something else next time I repot. Either hang it higher, or something, the pot and the plant dont fit eachother somehow. I'll go read and check how it likes to be cared for, and find a more natural solution. I grow all my plants indoor, but I do like to keep their natural preferences in mind when potting.

I think it will grow on me, when I learn more about it. They are all cute, I keep them all.

Lol, like pokemon, gotta catch them all. Still not transfering any. (Which mean I can buy more, cause then I dont have too many😎. Yet…)

Nice healthy plant, I like the difference of the bloom under the artificial lights.

If I were you I'd embrasse the fact it's growing flat as you say and would mount it on a cork slab. Phals that grow like this do well mounted

Pretty color! I find that the flat growers like this one are more difficult to water in a pot, as those big leaves make it hard to get all the roots wet. Are you able to care for mounted plants? That's a good idea, although I don't have mounts and cannot really deal with them. I just have to lift the leaves slightly to water under them. Bothersome, but not really difficult.

Well, I'm not sure about the mounting- have two mounted, but I always set them back- forgetting to mist everyday, so have to see how they do.

Yeah, the leaves are a bit in the way- but its okay. Sometimes I put it in a pot with no holes and fill with water.

Maybe a semi-mount something. Need to be easy to water without spraying everything else in the living room😜
Mounted and in a container or something.

Okay. Did it anyway.
Gonna leave it like this until it settles, and then move it somewhere. Maybe stick it all in a glass-container/vase/something.

For now its on my cake-thingy. Hubby doesnt like me using that for plants, but well, I needed a place for it to be.
😎

Hid it under the catasetum, he'll never even notice😜

Light and temperature is okay for growing some roots. Have some rocks and water for humidity. Gonna hang it somewhere later.
