Phal Bronze Maiden (schilleriana x mannii)
Phal Bronze Maiden is primary hybrid between schilleriana and mannii, and I have to say that it looks stunning!
I bought it 4 years ago as a tiny seedling from a well known german grower. 2 years ago it got crown rot, but luckily it produced a basal keiki, and at last, it is blooming!!!! It will be gorgeous in a couple years, when it starts producing larger spikes.
The blooms start out rather flat and a nice bronze/red color, and after a few days, the petals/sepals fold back, taking on the characteristic mannii look. The color also changes during this process, slowly becoming more yellow/orange. Added bonus, it's lightly scented!

That's pretty nice, love the lip. Doesn't seem to have much of the schilleriana parent showing.

Oh how cool. I so loved my mannii and am so mad I killed it. I have seen a couple of crosses of it that I do really like and I like this one. I'm glad it grew a keiki for you, mine sadly did not.

Gorgeous 😍 Camille, your phals are beautiful! I fell in love with your phal wiganiae and got one myself shortly after you posted your beautiful blooms.

No, it doesn't show much schilleriana (not even mottled leaves!), but from photos I've seen online, the main characteristic that parent seems to pass on is flower count.

Sad to hear you lost yours!! This was the first time I ever got a basal keiki off a plant that rotted away, so I'm glad that I didn't immediately toss the plant when the crown died. I also have a mannii, but the dark version, and it's going to be in full bloom within a few weeks.

Always happy to 'enable' someone to get another orchid! I've lost track of how many orchids I've gotten after seeing photos of them on Orchidboard.

Wow,
magnificent flower.
You must be very proud of the outcome.
Congratulations and I love the photos.
The first in particular with the beautiful planter which emerges from the darkness is great.

A very attractive plant with an eye-catching name. The name alone made me want to view the post. It did not disappoint. Congratulations on sticking with the plant through the bad times. May the good times be full of plentiful blooms!

I'm impressed, and it takes a lot to impress me with a Phalaenopsis hybrid.
