I would cut off that half of the leaf. Whether you cut the leaf or not, watch the plant closely to be sure nothing is spreading.

Heres the orchid now. The leaf is appearing to dry but there is some darkening inbetween where healthy tissue meets sick tissue.

What do you think of the leaf at this stage? Should I leave it?
In an event where I would need to cut the affected area off, what steps should I take?
