Dorothy, this is a bit off topic but I noticed your Phal had such beautiful shiny leafs do you put something on them? Mine are nice and green but dull.
Its a beautiful Orchid and one that is on my wish list
I just wipe them off with a moist towel ..
If I have fertilizer spotting .. I have used mayo (so long as you don't leave it on for any length of time and wipe off with a moisten towel) or lemon juice straight from the lemon .. I read where you can also use milk ..
but for the most part, I don't use anything to make them shine

I had a keiki on one of my phals that had two small 3-4 inch leaves. It stayed that way for well over a year, and never did grow roots. I eventually tired of looking at the keiki and started to think about cutting it off. When I posted at another board, people were outraged that I was going to cut the keiki off, but I felt after so long it could be wearing down the mother plant, and I kind of would like to see that plant flower again. So, I cut the keiki off and attempted to root it, with no success. The keiki lived for about three months.
Maybe the plant was already stressed and that's why it keiki'd. Phals keiki for several different reasons....stress is one of them. But in my opinion a keiki that's rootless for a long long time can bring the mother plant down.
