Thumbs up New 5.00 rescue.

Good evening everyone,

So! I stopped by Home Depot (why I do this to myself I will never know) and took a look at there orchids. They were all pitiful to a degree but the one I bought was unique. It's leaves are mottled between green and dark purple on the top and underside of each leaf. The underside is pure purple. The blooms were also different than all the normal ones on the table. So I had to get it.

I'm glad I did because when I got home to look it over it was standing in water and had two bad roots. Time for some major TLC.

****I found a identical match via flower, stalk, and leaves. This is Phal. Wenlong Pink Girl.****

Lol ( why I do this to myself I will never know ) I do the same! I visit Trader Joe's, Lowe's, King Scooper (my fave bc they tend to keep tags), and HD all the time 😩 I can't help myself. I found mine at Albertsons and it looks just like yours. It has a very strong floral/rose scent in the late morning. I love my little phal. It's the only fragrant one I have so far. Great find OrchidPrince!

Great find! Very pretty. I always scope out the plants at Home Depot. They usually have some nice ones. Unfortunately my Home Depot doesn't mark down the plants. Bummer. The closest Lowes to me is like 45 mins away...I dont go there much. The only place I can find rescues is the grocery store (last time i got a small paph for $3 and two mini phals for $1 each, all with spent blooms but great roots). The nursery I go to marks orchids 50% off when the blooms are mostly gone but lately they havent had much on the markdown table. I love seeing everybodys rescues!

No fragrance that I can detect yet. However the poor thing was in rough shape. I'm just happy I found a named Phal without a tag. I spent all night last night comparing it's bloom, front and back, and it's a exact match to Phal. Wenlong Pink Girl.
