Default how to treat flowering phal

my oldest and dearest phal is flowering again ie sending up a flower spike.how should i be treating it,the 1st 2 years of flowering were happy coincedences this is the 1st time i like to think i had something to do with it.i switched from a growing orchid fertilizer to a flowering fertilizer.is there anything else i should be doing?

I treat blooming Phals the same as non-blooming ones

I always just water without fertilizer and they were perfectly fine.
By overdoing fertilizer, you can only ruin flowers.

I 've always red that when an orchid is not in bloom, that is the time to fertilize it with a blooming fertilizer. After that period, when the orchid is starting growing the flower spike, it'ss useless, because it has already received the induction to flower.

I may be wrong but I think that to increase the amount of flowers, you shoud give to your orchid a good amount of very bright light, the right amount of fertilizer, and the right temperature. Plus, I really do think that the "mother" of your plant does the rest,I mean: if an orchid produces a lot of flowers it may depends also from how prolific the mother was. It's a genetic matter.
