Two New Leaves
Default Two New Leaves Photo Added 1-7-2015 Please Look

A simple question my Phalaenopsis Orchid has two new leaves coming at once is this common or unusual? The proper light really does wonders. I read Phals didn't need much light I had it in a spot which I thought was fine it did nothing even lost roots plus the leaves did not look good. I moved it to a window and Wow did that plant come to life. The plant is huge now with strong large leaves with new roots everywhere. Thanks for your Answer, Plus any growing tips will be appreciated. Need to find out how to add the photo. Thanks

We have a thread in the Beginner Discussion forum that is called "The Phal Abuse Ends Here." You can just search the board for that thread and read the first 12 or so pages. Get a cup of tea and settle in. It's loaded with great advice!

I don't think that is very common for 2 leaves to grow at the same time. I have a lot of phals and have only seen it once!

I can now tell these two new leaves coming out at the same time will not be normal. They look to be thinner than normal and not in the right location. Now I'd rather would have seen just one leaf. I am thinking the plant will look deformed. I am now very curious why did two leaves grow out instead of one. Any suggestions?

I had one phal with 2 new leaves at the same time but they developed one on each side, not 2 from the same side like this.

Two New Leaves
Default New Photo Posted

The Phal has grown much since the photo was taken. The photo is from a time back. I will take a new photo soon and post that one so all can see the up to date progress. The two leaves are not both growing in on the same side as it may look like that in the photo. They are coming in opposite each other. The new photo has been posted. The leaf looks like it's 90 degrees from where it should be. Nothing I can do but watch how it all turns out.
