Default Phal in bloom

Anyone know what the branching off is?? I never seen one of my orchids do this.Thanks.

Some phal spikes branch, some never do, it just depends on the parentage of the plant. The branching ones are called multifloral, and can put on quite a show. Many times the flowers are smaller than standard phals, but there can me many more per spike. I enjoy the look; what is the name of your plant?
