Blooming phal equestris hybrid with bad roots. What to do?
Hi folks,
I got a beautiful phal equestris hybrid at a garden centre on Monday. This beauty has been on my wishlist for a long time and in my exitement i forgot to check the roots, which I usually do. At home, I noticed alot of rotting roots. The plant has been kept way too wet. Fortunatly it does have green healthy roots aswell.
Come to think of it, I am wondering whether the leaves look healthy. My other 2 phals have beautiful plump and shiny leaves. Unfortunatly I am unable to make a clear pic of the roots.
The plant has a whopping 6 spikes and I am wondering whether or not that will kill the plant eventually. What do you guys recommend? Should I repot now, or wait till it's finished blooming? Should I cut off a few spikes, or all, if I want the plant to survive? I really want it to live, and am hoping for keiki's.
If anyone knows what the name of this hybrid is, please let me know! :-)
Thanks for the advice
