Phal. Surf Song
From Hausermann's...two spikes . When the first bud opened it was much darker colored and I was a little disappointed but a couple days later it has lightened up and I love it!

surf songs are one of my favorite phals.
+ mine grows for me and that adds to the joy of course.
mine has lasted almost 3 years put of 50 blooms last year and a keiki n 4 new leaves this summer.
I know some have had some trouble after they bloom.
Let it rest some after it blooms and do not water it until it completely dries out. Repeat this over and over until it gets ready to break out some new roots and shoots. My lower leaves die off and roots shoot out between the leaves when its ready for some food.

Thank you for the tips! It seems all orchids have a bit of quirky in them, just a matter (as always) of finding what works for the one in question. It's kinda like not everyone likes/tolerates spicy food. I guess orchids are subjective to their environments...objective would be so much easier!! That said, there's "something" that CAN work for all of them! Just don't give up!
