Dtps. Purple Martin
This is an orchid which I've been wanting for a really long time, but never had a chance to take it off the wishlist. I can't take credit for the blooms, I got it in bud at an orchid show a month ago.
The color is fantastic, when I saw these at the show I had to grab one! I've passed up buying this hybrid in the past because the flowers were more pink rather than purple.
Now I'm waiting for a similar hybrid to bloom (just received it a few days ago!), Dtps. Kenneth Schubert x Dtps. Purple Gem ‘aida’.

I am happy you finally have it! I recently have acquired three orchids that have been on the top of my wish list so I know how very satisfying it feels. You have great taste as it is a beauty!

Very nice color. I like the way the whole flower reflexes. In my head it makes me think that someone snuck up on it and surprised it and it went "yow".
I know, my wife says my head works in mysterious ways, too.

I have a phal with a similar shape and it makes me think that the flower is sticking it's head out the car window, as a dog might.
