Baby Phalaenopsis Spiking? Female
Default Baby Phalaenopsis Spiking?

I got this baby Phal as a keiki off of a NoID in February of 2013. He seemed to be doing nicely, but growing VERY slowly. Then, I brought him outside in May to summer. He was OK, but got eaten by some bugs, plus I didn't water regularly. So, he looks like crap now, but - he's SPIKING! Is that possible? He's not a miniature - that's his Mama in the 2nd and 3rd pics. She bloomed a couple of weeks ago. So they spiked within a few weeks of each other. I'm just worried it's a "death spike" 'cause of the neglect and bugs over the summer. I sorry!!

It looks healthy enough despite the leaf damage. I thought your stuartiana was in bloom and I was ready to die in envy!
Congratulations on the spike!
