Default Anyone ever heard of Owensara?

I have found a few vague references to it on the internet, but no photos or information, just nominclature stuff. It's related to phals, but is one of those man-made genera. I have one, it's blood red, more red than any phal I had ever seen, which is why I bought it. It was about to be done blooming, but I could not resist. It's growing well now, but it will of course be a while before it's in bloom again. When it is, I will post pictures. Just wondered if anyone knows anything more about them. The one I have is called Owensars 'Cathy Welder'. Peace!

Owensara (Owsr) is a man-made genus made up of Doritis x Phalaenopsis x Renanthera

There have been 4 grexes registered:

Owensara Cathy Welder (2002)
Owensara Frank Welder (1999)
Owensara Taeko (1982)
Owensara William Owens (1980)

Given their parentage, I would guess that they would grow with conditions similar to Phaleanopsis, but with more light and possibly warmer temps. Flower shape could be more star shaped with narrower petals and intense color.

Thanks Dave! Yeh, that picture looks similar to my Cathy Welder. Thanks for the information! When it blooms I will be sure to post a picture. Also...just an interesting note, it is a beautiful plant, very red in color even in just the leaves.
