repotting phal

i inherited a phal and its been doing well its flowered nicely since iv got it,the last bloom has just died and im wondering if its time to repot it,its been in the same pot at least 2 years,facing a east facing window with lots of light(i was even worried about burning)so i'v moved it to a west facing window in the bathroom and wondering if the trade off of less light for more humidity is ok?the potting medium seems quite compact i wouldnt say its airy by any stretch of the imagination,spring is around the corner can i repot or wait for warmer days and waht size pot should i use?

It should be fine to repot now. Use the smallest pot you can get the roots in to without forcing the issue
