Dtps. Surf Song
Lovely bloom this am. No credit to me- arrived in bud from Hausermann's. Am hopeful for quite a show later on as there are three bud-laden spikes snd at least one branch starting.

I just purchased one of these myself. I found it at the hardware store, looking all lovely and sunset orange. It's probably one of my favorite phal hybrids, great big blooms, loads of color. If it had a scent... I would be over the moon with this plant. Yours is lovely! The bloom looks enormous! How large would you say it is?
Also, just for your information, the plant is now Phalaenopsis Surf Song now. Dtps is a defunct genus, as of 2009 it was merged with Phalaenopsis when DNA testing proved that Dtps was the same species as Phalaenopsis. Hausermann's hasn't relabeled their plants appropriately yet, a lot of growers haven't, but I thought you would appreciate the info for your own purposes.

This blog post had a good explanation of how things are supposed to work now. Roughly, from what I understand, if there was a Dtps Surf Song and a Phal Surf Song registered prior to the name change, then Dtps surf song would stay Dtps for registration purposes, even though Doritis is actually Phalaenopsis now and Dtps, is a Phal/Doritis hybrid.
Since there was no Phal Surf Song registered prior to the change, Dtps Surf Song, became Phal Surf Song.
Hope that makes sense.

WOW! That's almost as big on the blooms on my Phal Sogo Yukidian. Nice! I bet this will be gorgeous when all of the buds open!

You'd better post an update when more buds open! One of our members here had one that put out 50 some odd blooms. It was incredible to see!

I just got mine (from Hausermans) last week...it is beautiful! I guess I should thank R.J. Squirrel for posting pics of his outstanding blooms as I usually don't do Phals at all . I love the color of the backs of the blooms almost as much as the front.
