Field Trip to Little Brook Orchids...oops
I went to LBO today for the express purpose of bringing home one species (bellina) but came home with two hybrids instead...of course I can't take any credit for the blooms but they are so lovely I wanted to brag a bit...
Dtps Kenneth Schubert and Phal Orchid Classic's Golden Showers (deliciosa x chibae)- this one has an odd little growth that may be an old spike...it doesn't really look like a root or a new spike. It's the reddish thing towards the back in the middle of the plant but I'm not sure what it is. I've uploaded a picture of it as well.

I've been there twice- it's a good thing it isn't ~April because the owner said it's truly amazing to see the blooms then. That doesn't bode well for NEXT April.

Very nice choices you have there. Just wondering that since the other leaves seem to have a reddish tint, this could be a new leaf that starts out with that coloration as well.

Whatever it was it has since disappeared so...who knows what it was? Maybe an old spike. Kind of interesting that it's just gone but it may have just withered and I can't see it. This is a wee little plant. I picked up a phal. deliciosa from Ray when I ordered some KelpMax to keep her company.

That tiny red thing near the base is gone??
I would recommend checking for slug/snail tonight.
They might have eaten it up!
