Default dying leaf tip

oh my poor phal mannii, it have a couple of leafs.

the tip of the leaf is preceeded by a yellowing and dryness, and then followed up turning black little by little everyday. today is the 2nd day i've noticed it.

at first i thought it could be an humidity/heat issue but none of the other orchids i have in the growing area exhibit such characteristic symptoms. but could it still be this? i have a few small seedlings and even they seem to be fine...

itz not the oldest leaf either, itz the second newest.

im thinking could it be fertilizer burn, but again, only one leaf exhibits this... i dunno who took the camera but i will post a pic asap.

the leafs aint that big so it would take that long to have the whole leaf die off this way

please let me know if u have any clues

Leaf tip turning black a little more each day --

Sounds like rot to me. Rots are opportunistic, they "seize the moment", whether it's a scratch or whatever.

Trouble with them, is that they can move very fast, and you say yours is moving. If it gets to the crown, it's very bad news.

I would cut that black tip off, by cutting into good green tissue with a sterile blade. Dust the edge with cinnamon and watch the plant closely to make sure new black areas don't appear.

I've seen rots go from a few spots on a leaf to destroying an entire catt pseudobulb in about two days.

Any growing black or brown area = take action quickly to stop it.

Good idea Nick. I do agree with Mehitabel about being fungus or bacteria of some sort.
Ferts are gonna really spread like that as far as the damage goes

A photo would still be cool if you can manage to fine some time.
