Just got my response from Peter at Big Leaf Orchids...what a nice guy!
Hi –
Flowers turn green when the flowers are pollinated. However, in your picture, I see the pollen are intact on the first flower.
Phalaenopsis flower last a while, 3 month or longer in a greenhouse setup is not unusual.
But most Phal. bellina tend to give up its flower quickly and flower successively – on average 2 or 3 flowers stay on the plant. Older plants have more resources to keep the flower longer.
As long as your plant stay healthy – no wrinkle on the leaves, then it’s okay for the flowers to stay on the plant. Maybe this particular plant just really want to hold on to its flower to reproduce. Orchids do spend a lot of resources to produce a flower, therefore the plant will hold on to it as long as possible.

I told you he was a good chap! I am glad he responded so quickly.
He explains it hanging on so long, now what about the color change....I assume natural fading due to the flowers age.  |

the second bloom is now starting to look like the first one...which is still there!!!

I agree! I have never seen the blooms remain on my violacea like that... They stay bright colored then droop and fall off. Do they still smell?

Mind-boggling!
I just had to post an update!
This Phal just won't release it's two blooms! It has been MONTHS!!! The first bloom opened on August 26th, 2007!!!
The third "bud" never materialized but I can't bring myself to remove these blooms...it's too weird  |
