Perhaps its petrifying on the plant. Hehe.
Elliot's suggestion makes more sense than it simply won't let go. I would research more on that. However I am assuming that it photosynthesized while it was green. It looks very pale now.
Sue, think of it this way, perhaps its so happy and healthy, that even after its lost all its pigments the main structure is still to healthy to die. Like up here in NYC (remember NYC?  ), when there is plenty of rain in the summer and autumn the leaves on the trees turn gorgeous colors and last a very long time as opposed to when the summer was hot and dry, and autumn short and cold, when most leaves just go straight to brown and fall off. By the way, this year was a particularly good one here in the city. Very vibrant colors from almost every type of tree, and lasted up to Thanksgiving.

I placed an order from Big Leaf around the first of November last year and their plants looked so much healthier then other plants I ordered from a different vendor at the same time! |
