Phaleonopsis stuartiana
Default Phaleonopsis stuartiana

This is an orchid I don't see posted or discussed too often, maybe because the flowers are very small, not even 2 1/2 inches from side to side, but they make up with quantity. One day I hope to have a plant robust enough to have multiple flower spikes. Interesting mottled leaves, a lot like P. schilleriana, but no fragrance at all. It has bloomed twice before, and this is the largest display yet. Purchased as a seedling several years ago.

Beautiful! I love this species. I think my flowers are a little smaller than yours. Mine has been a very slow grower but it has bloomed every year. A vendor told me that there are a couple of breeders working on getting larger flowers through line breeding.

One of my favourites. I only grow the small and mini phals. I find them to be more demanding, but also more rewarding. Good job on this one!
