This little cutie was sold as a mini phal, but it's simply a young plant. The flower shape and the fragrance are unmistakably schilleriana, and the mottled leaves suggest that a schillie is at least half of the parentage. For $10 I couldn't resist! The only downer is that it's from Just Add Ice, so I hate to think how many ignorant buyers of its siblings are going to torture them with ice cubes.

The flowers are more pink than the photo shows.

It is beautiful. I wonder if schilleriana is a parent, grandparent, or even further back in it's parentage. Maybe aphrodite is its other parent if it is a primary. Who knows? It is definitely a winner either way!

Looks wonderful... Amen about Just Add Ice.... I had it out with 2 workers at Home Depot who sell that brand when I was trying to help a woman and explain to her the first thing you need to do is repot it, in bloom or not and get it out of the moss because most of their roots are rotted. The manager came over with their outside plant management person and they started yelling at me saying the roots are not rotted, I pulled one out of the decorative pot to show them in the clear pot most of the roots you see are dead, brown and mushy. And then you sell a half dead plant to people and tell them to add ice which will now shock the plant more. The end of the discussion was me stating, just because it has a flower does not mean its healthy...
