I think this is a primary. The plant has been with me at least two years and came from Peter. Nearly tossed it due to a bad leaf that showed black rot after a systems failure while away for a week (why do they always happen while we are away?!). Anyway, Quay convinced me to keep it and it's doing fine now.

Blooming off old spikes...it grew no new ones this year probably due to the struggle it had.

So glad she bloomed for you! Mine hasn't bloomed in a long time I think because I never removed the keikies. So everyone just sort of grows. I'll have to fix that today. Pauline can get huge and have branching spikes. It once bloomed for me and held 58 blooms. It was enormous.
