Default Air Roots

I have this Phal. with several air roots but when I was watering it this morning I noticed the longest air root has this growing out of it. Was wondering if there is any way to get this to root and beable to cut it from the mother plant? Hope this makes sense. Thank you for any replies.

the root is growing a side-shoot root, not a keiki. Do not remove it, nor push it back into the bark. Your phal is obviously happy where it is.
You can also mist all external roots at least 1x per week - if it doesn't make too much of a mess.

Orchid growers learn to love aerial roots. Don't do anything to the root. Let it grow the way it wants to. If you have a little spray bottle you can mist the aerial roots every couple of days to keep them viable.
