Default My Oldest Phalaenopsis

This old phal stays outdoors here in South Florida. It's subjected to wind and heat and pouring rain. I don't even bring it in when we have an occasional cold snap into the high 40's. The mother plant died off and there are three basal keikis now. They bloom every year even though the plant looks pretty ragged.

That's a happy plant that clearly appreciates it's treatment!

I'm not sure how old it is but it's at least 10 years old and probably a few years older than that.

Gorgeous flowers that put out quite a show....three spikes at that!
Is this the one on your profile picture?
I also have a 14 year old Phalaenopsis philippinensis I got from Los Angeles 3 years ago, before the mother died it also left me with two basal keikis....now I have to wait maybe two more cycles before they will give me blooms....

It might be ragged, but I like the way it looks!

It looks very happy! Some of my Phal hybrids are currently seeing high 40s and look no worse for wear.
