The roots aren't dry or shrivelled ... - one has a black area that may, or may not be rot - is that area firm, or squishy?. Looks like some roots have broke or cracked at some point but have healthy growth. Green, or whitish/silverish firm roots are good. The fact that there are green ones indicate that they are plenty moist. Water when those become silverish.

The bottom leaves might be dying off naturally - tho I can't say so for sure ... Make sure you aren't over-watering.

Are you posting from a computer, or phone/tablet? I'm trying to figure out why you can only post one photo at a time ...

I agree with the above post that the roots don't look too bad. If that black root wasn't there before you repotted, I would cut that part off. And make sure you don't water for a bit to let the roots dry out a bit. It's normal to drop a leaf or two if it drops more then I would be concerned.

Ok...calming down then...

All of the "black and shriveled" roots have plump green bits still attached, so I'm assuming I should leave those alone...and I'll keep an eye on those two leaves.

WhiteRabbit, I'm using my iphone, I take all my pics with it and it's a pain to transfer them to my laptop to post so I just post straight with my iPhone instead. It works, but I can only attach one at a time and sometimes they show up sideways even when they were taken straight up and down.

Phal roots do stop growing at times, and then start again - giving that 'pinched' area - is that what you mean by 'shrivelled' - because I don't see any shrivelled roots, or areas ...

Sometimes old (possibly shriveled) roots do start new growth - in cases like those, judge by how the new (or newer) growth looks.

Website through the safari default app.

I've seen truly dead roots before, with the sheath completely empty except for the thin string-like core, so I just assumed these were a step or two before that.

Those roots look quite good, actually.

Have you tried uploading pix to your gallery, and then copy and paste links created to your post?
Or, uploading to a photo sharing/hosting site and then copy and paste the links ?

For those new to phals, the roots can be tough to interpret. The roots look fine. I'm not a leaf expert, though, unless I see the plant in person. Good luck!
