Phal growing on a tree

Wow, soo cool to see these in their natural habitat, in bloom no less!!
If you ask me, it looks better on a tree then in a pot.
Well, since we are on the subject of best growing conditioins. I consider myself a cold to intermediate grower which thrives in high humidity and high ventilation, and high levels of sun for few hours of the day. Preferably in the morning. It can be cloudy the rest of the day for all I care. I do well under bright artificial lighting.

Haraella odorata is naturally distributed along the rivers or in damp froests in mountainous areas on this isalnd.

Most plants are found in northern Taiwan.
But some reports said the species also found in central and eastern Taiwan.
Taroko is located in eastern part of this island, maybe they also live here.

Just googled Haraella odorata. I can see why it's your favourite. Going to have to add that one to my wish list.

I know what you mean about the depressing winter nights. I lived in Alaska for a couple of years as a kid. Going to school in the dark and coming home in the dark as a kid really sucked.

i know the feeling exactly. we're about as far north as Alaska but thanks to the Gulf stream not as cold.
