Beautifully grown Phals, you've got there. How many flowers does that monster one have? I tried counting them, but I gave up...

I just went and counted as I didnt know myself.
It has got 17 flowers the biggest of them is getting on for 5" across a monster it is but a beauty at the same time.

Its a nightmare fitting all my phals (incl this one) to fit on my 4 windowsills. I have to be clever using different heights to get them all to fit like a jigsaw puzzle im always jigging them about to fit better. I use a lot of different size pots/containers to stagger the heights so I can fit other small phals inbetween as some of the leaf spans on some of the phals are quite long.

Have you ever seen any of the massive standard Phalaenopsis they grow in Taiwan and other such Asian countries? They carefully control the climate using techniques I won't bore you with. But then end up with spikes are incredibly long with 30+ five inch flowers per spike! The spikes are so long that the plants have to be put on stands so that their flowers don't hit the floor!

Look at these massive Phals!

Wow, great growing.

I have one like the pale yellow/spotted one in your 5th picture, but it's producing ONE solitary bud on the spike just now... and it's a brand new spike

Hi Rosie,
thats annoying when that happens isnt it?? That was another cheapy from tesco. I just happened to see it and had to buy it.......

I was reading a thread on here re seaweed fertiliser and I saw your recommendation for the shropshire seaweed. I ordered a bottle and it arrived yesterday. I followed instructions 2ml per litre. I have got one with pitiful roots that were rotting in moss before i rescued it - am hoping it will help it grow some new healthy roots.

Hope the seaweed helps as it has for me. I bought some more recently, but I tend to use it less in the winter when it's not natural growing season. However started using it on a really struggling one recently and there is a little root showing
