They are also very pretty! I really like the green one, my daughter has one that's similar and hers is a sequential bloomer (meaning that it puts out one bud, then it keeps adding new buds to the end of the spike.) It does look like yours is trying to branch to me.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but thanks to Randomgemini for so clearly explaining what a sequential bloomer is - I have seen the phrase used before,but never really understood what was meant. I have a phal that is doing that right now, and it has been driving me crazy lol.

I only have 2 species phal's and both of mine are some of my best growers. I have a Mannii and an equestris that I have had for years. My Mannii has bloomed every year with 2 spikes in a North window that gets pretty cold sometimes.

When it is really cold I take it out for the night. It is sending out 2 more this year and my equestris that didn't bloom last year is putting one out as well. I need to get different colors of both I just love them.

Yes they are hybrids, generally with Phals if they are not tagged then they are hybrids. There are a few exceptions but most of the ones in the mass market are and also probably have no name. We call then NoID, but they are just as pretty as named ones. I've got quite a collection of NoID Phals
