I've seen threads that have talked about propagation via cuttings, where you lay the cuttings down on a bed of live moss and put the whole thing into a ziplock bag; keeping everything moist so it eventually sprouts roots. Would that work in this case to promote further root growth? I'm finding a number of my grocery store NoIDs having root rot problems with too much moisture in their moss and not enough air flow, I'd like to encourage more root growth to make up the damage.

It might, I have heard of suspending them bare root over water but not touching the water. I have no idea if it really works or not. I eventually just cleaned up dabbed on some rooting compound and repotted this one. I keep planning to get some sort of seaweed for it. We'll see, this one may just be a lost cause.

Well, looks like its trying after a year or so of no root growth. Blurry picture because my tablet doesn't seem to have a macro focusing option. The spots are actually mostly water droplets. I had thought of pulling the plug on it today to free up some window space and found this.

Also with the start of the new root growth I have some kelpmax en route so this one should be back on track!

Speaking of kelpmax, does anyone have any knowledge of how much and how often for a sick stressed out phal?

Default KelpMax

Ray suggests 1 Tablespoon of KelpMax per gallon of water about every 4 weeks.
