Phal LD's Bear Queen
I got this lovely monster from a friend of mine. Huge of a plant with 1 foot top leaves, both mother and basal plants. Sadly only one bloom, but it's a good one, and still is enough fragrance to fill the room. Color is a bit lighter than indicated. Overly yellow as you can see from BigLeafOrchid tag that should be white.
Now since this is my first bloom in awhile I'm super itchy on the crossing front... What to do, that hasn't been done

Is that the one I saw at the AOS meeting last night? I loved that one, the bloom was so cute on the monster leaf pile!

Valorie, you were in attendance last night? I showed up late, and didn't get a chance to hear the new members and guests be announced. Sorry I didn't get to meet and greet.
But yes, this is the one from last night. It's a monster plant. I want to cut off the basal kieki it's growing but I dont want to kill both plants doing it. It's a difficult decision. Hopefully I'll get more buds in the coming months when bellina season begins.

Yes, I was there for my first meeting and dragged a friend along, who enjoyed the Neo lecture so much she bought herself her first orchid, one of the tiny Neos. I went home with a Brlla, an unexpected and very welcome thank you gift for joining the AOS! I'm thrilled to be a part of it and I'm hoping to be able to help volunteer for the show coming up in March.

Cool. I'll be helping out for sure with setup, and takedown. Everything else is during the week, so tough to know how much I can help there. We normally have a great show with lots of diversity. I'm super picky, really specializing in Phalaenopsis only, so I need to be there first to sneak through everything... (though the yellow neos were quite neat) I'm sure I'll meet you next month, hopefully with something in bloom but it's not looking food right now :-(

My favorites are miniature Phals, so I'm right with you on wanting to be there ASAP to snap up goodies! My P. Sogo Viviens has a number of buds on it but I'm not sure if it will have any blooms on it by then, these cold snaps keep causing bud blast...
