I got a very nice orchid, Tess .. I would buy from him again
I had read and heard in the past that cgmoody (PC Orchids) is a reliable seller.
Tess - any seller shouldn't hesitate to send you a photo of the plant he is selling if you asked .. if they wouldn't ... I'd be cautious.

Go for it Terri and Tess!
Check out Item number: 260171232794 on eBay to 'Buy It Now'!
I think he has 3 available!

Forgot to ask... do you keep your Phals in sphag? I'm asking because I also got a Dtps. Kenneth Schubert x Phal. tetraspis 'C1' that's in sphag, but I wasn't sure about keeping it that way. Just wondering what your experience has been?

Shakkai, I have Dtps. Kenneth Schubert 'Purple Martin' X violacea and it came in a sphag/bark mix. When it's time to repot I'm going to put it in fine coco/perlite/charc. Is yours really small? Mine is tiny, but I don't know if it's supposed to be a mini or not.

This plant came to me in a fine bark medium. I layered the top with sphag moss. It keeps the aerial roots from drying out and retains a bit of humidity for the plant. I have done this to my other Phal violaceas with great results. I make sure the spray the sphag every morning (and during the day) as the moss becomes crunchy overnight

I would consider a Dtps. Kenneth Schubert 'Purple Martin' x Phal. violacea more compact than mini.

I'll join you, Shak -

Hi Terri! Thanks for the info on what you're going to do with your's. I don't know how big tetraspis gets, but I wouldn't consider my seedling mini. The largest leaf is about 5" long, but skinny like my D. pulcherrima.

Thanks, Dorothy, for the tip on keeping the aerial roots happy. What's your typical humidity? I mist the aerial roots on my Phals every couple of days or so -which tides the plants over between real waterings. I'm just so leery of sphag because I've seen how easily it compacts and rots roots.

Well since the plants aren't growing in but rather the moss is surrounding the top of the medium .. The air dries out the sphag long before any rot has a chance of 'taking root' ..
Right now the humidity where I have my orchids is way below 50% ( I don't have any meters to give you an exact reading ) probably close to 20 - 30% .. humidity can go as high as 90% in the summer months but even this year it wasn't as humid as in past summers.
I mist up until about 3 (cloudy days) - 4 pm (sunny days), I try to make sure that nothing is 'wet' overnight.
