True true, I did try to fill it with large size bark and it did work also, so there is the way, I guess:-) Big cork pieces would work as well:-)

Thanks for sharing, I have 4 or 5 old suet holder in my garage now they will have a reason for hanging around, I'll try adding some bark mix with the sphagnum moss to hold the moisture longer.

Thanks for sharing your creative idea, Tommy! I use net baskets and net pots in the same way, often lining them with coconut fiber to keep the sphagnum from falling out. I will be on the lookout for bird feeders! Very cool and cost-effective!

The nice thing about using suet bird feeder is that is is flat and hangs securely. Tommy I'm glad you think outside the pot. It is always good to repurpose stuff around the house. I posted a thread using Chinese take out containers and was criticized for being irreverent! This repurpose helped my seedlings a lot.

Matt, irreverent, seriously??? I love it, as a matter of the fact I keep nearly all take out boxes that I feel I can use later, many used for the pots being pushed higher, or as a saucers, why to buy them when you get them with your food. I can not believe someone would say something like that, shouldn't we all try at least minimum t safe our already damaged planet and re-purpose the stuff that we already have, instead of throwing it into the garbage and polluting even more!!!??? I can say only Matt, WAY TO GO, use more of them!!!
