Late night deer snack

OK this is no joke, deer came up on my deck and had a snack on my Phals. One had all but 2 older leaves eaten down into the crown. It's been 6 weeks now and the orchid is sending in out several new roots above the bark level. There is also a new break near the top of the crown stub. Doesn't look like the other root breaks. Could it be a new break for a new crown? Or should I just salvage the pot and move on.
