I agree. I've repotted phals that are in boom without a problem several times now. I've done it so many times now, that I don't worry about losing blooms on phals. When I get them home, I check the media and the roots and if I am not 100% happy with what I see, I repot them that day.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts.
On my day off later this week I will take it out of its pot, get rid of the mushy root and re-pot using fresh bark.
It has got lots of healthy green roots, just this one mushy one right at the bottom of the pot. Lets hope thats all i find in there!!

Will let you know how i get on and more importantly what i find in there.........
