It surely doesn't make any difference to me that's it's a "NOID".
I'd snatch this one too!!

I'm of the mind that if it didn't come with a tag, it should always be considered a NOID. On the other hand, I'm fairly confident that it's Phal. Kenneth Schubert.

I think it looks more like Purple Martin. It's a bit darker than Kenneth Schubert.

So happy to see these pictures! I've got a Phal. Purple Martin that has not yet bloomed for me, but from the look of it, I will LOVE Martin.

Second one I've snatched lol.
I'm strangely resistant to online shopping. So it's nice to find these things locally.

Indeed. It's a NOID. Though very pretty. And my only scented phal!
I think it could be Purple Martin, or Kenneth Schubert.

I'm a sucker for blues. Bud did post one I really wanted. Still on my wish list.

You know... I have this distinct feeling that this, and the other blue phal I own look very similar, but different.

Can you share your culture? My other one is doing some crazy things. I feel like my normal phal culture is just not cutting it with this guy.

Beautiful isn't it? The scent is nice too...
I've got another picture to come.

One final shot of this guy.
The pictures a bit dark but the colour is true to life.
The last picture is my other blue phal. I know you cannot tell because of the low quality (old phone), but my other one is a much lighter colour, with no scent. The petals are much more pointed and had a green picotee on the edges.
This new one is darker, fragrant, and has rounded petals and no green picotee.

I think it might be a cross between Purple Martin and Kenneth Schubert

(Seriously, I think it is probably a pulcherima/violacea mix, but you are right, which one is not really possible to tell)

I think I've heard that pulcherima can go through a definite cycle of growth, where it starts a 'ring' of growth each year, with new roots and leaves above the previous year's. Violacea is reputed to be sensitive to temperature: I've heard of them dropping leaves in response to cold drafts? If your plant is coming back as strong each time then maybe it's not too big a worry?

Oh very pretty. If I ever see one like that around here it would be coming home with me despite me saying no more noids.
