Phals, Who Can Resist When They're Offered EVERYWHERE?!
Everywhere I go I find Phals!! I went to Grocery Outlet to stock up on cheap eats for teenagers and look what followed me home!
It's a noID of course, but it is so unique I just couldn't resist this large-statured stripey Phal.
The sphagnum they all plant these things in now bugs me to no end, but I resist repotting until after the flowers drop.

Wow! I would've grabbed that too! Never mind I have no space for it!

I know, right!? I picked up a mini phal at the grocery store when I went for birthday cake supplies yesterday. I mean who can resist when they're just sitting there, looking adorable?

Phalas, who can resist them
I can and do resist buying them no matter the price or beauty. I have gotten a bit tired of seeing them everywhere I go even on TV shows in the background.

I get so sidetracked at trying to see what variety the background 'prop' is that I often fail to hear the dialog going on.
I resist most orchids I see, but sometimes I really enjoy that purchase 'high' by bringing home a special plant.

I used to be always buying the NoID's in the supermarket, then I had most colours so stopped and only got spieces but still went to look at the ones in the supermarket "just in case there is some colour I've not seen". This one czygyny has posted is a colour I've not seen... I would definately have got it.
Now I sometimes buy the NoIDs from the supermarket again in colours I've already got... because I need some for my office at work and don't like to take the ones from home in case they get killed by someone who thinks they are helping by watering them when I'm not there.

I'm not into phals, but I saw a very similar one at Home Depot last week- I wanted to buy it it was so cool, but couldn't then and it was gone when I went back. It had a tag, but all I can remember of the name is that the first part was Tzeng or something very like that. It looked like someone took one of the big round white platter phals like Sogo Yukidan, dipped a large coarse brush in some very dark purple paint (the color of the markings on harlequin phals), and ran it across the flower, leaving horizontal streaks much heavier on one side than the other- which side varied. 'Mine' didn't have the faint pink spotting it looks like this one has, and the streaking was a little heavier and darker.
