Hi Dorothy,
I just searched Amazon for that book and it costs USD$103- $125 for USED copies!!!!

It looks fabulous and it has some great photos and information! The reviews by other reader is also worth reading! I am really interested in the primary hybrids!

I did another search on Booktopia (Aust. website) and they are selling it NEW for AUD$62.96 (plus postage $6.50)!Booktopia - Phalaenopsis : A Monograph, Eric A. Christenson, 9780881924947

How can I resist!!!
I love phals...

Thanks for suggesting the book!

Ok, I have the book and can try. I think I have read almost every page. It is easy to read. The plant are devided in subgenus with its own chapter. The plants have drawings and descriptions. ( I have also added my own mini pictures of the flowers). In the book there are 62 pages with a few pictures of different Phalaenopsis. Chapter 10 is about cultivation, and chapter 12 about hybrids. I love the book.

I see Steven Frownie has a new book about to be released called Moth Orchids The Complete Guide to Phalaeonopsis. If it's as good as his book on miniature orchids I'll be sure to add it to my growing library.

Terry, thanks for the tip about the Frowine book. Looks good.

I'd like to add to this list: Bob Gordon *Culture of the Phalaenopsis Orchid".

It's an older book, but recommended by Howard Ginsburg of Bedford Orchids. I got mine on Amazon, perfect used copy for $12.

I found it helpful. He also includes pictures of his phal-growing set up, designed to give them mazimum light while keeping them on their sides to avoid crown rot.

Gordon also has other books I have not read.
