I rescued my phal from lowes, today it was knocked over in its pot, its got lots of happy happy roots. The only issue is that the new leaf and the largest base leaf are broken off now. I cut off the spikes to allow the plant to work on new leaf growth.

Any other suggestions? I have never had a new leaf break off dead in the center new leaf growth....

I'd say, given what I have read about phals, it will likely recover. They seem to be really sturdy and can take a lot of abuse.

I hope so. The blooms are so pretty. they are a very ultra light lilac/white color with splashes of purple towards the middle.

Are the leaves snapped or the part of the plant they are attached to.

If it's the leaves that have snapped it should be fine, if it's damaged the center where they join the plant it could be more of a problem but could still be OK.

Like this one?
I like white phal with red/purple center and lip.

Anyways, I dropped one pot of large phal yesterday and lucky only one leaf got a big scar.
I also have broken off leaf, old and new.

It causes no harm at all. The left over portions will grow out a little further and even if that's not the case, it will grow new leaves when in the right season to do so.

Yours just finished flowering, so most likely it will grow some leaves before spiking as long as it is kept warm enough.

Don't worry too much.
