Default Part 2 - sickly phal

Hi all,

After rescuing this phal from my local garden centre and trying to repot it as it had horrible mushy root rot. It became apparent it wouldn't sit in the pot without falling out as it had very few roots to anchor it down.

So............ after lots of reading I have decided to do a Vanda vase technique on it. Will keep misting the roots and we shall see what happens. see pictures below.

Not sure if it will work to help encourage new root growth. I can but try........

Wow… I just rescued a phal. sogo yukidian v3 from the hardware store that I thought had bad root rot. I went ahead and repotted it as soon as I got it home and clipped off probably the lower half of its roots. I thought that was pretty bad.

It looks like you have only four roots left! I hope this works! It seems like it should discourage the rot from continuing and if you mist the roots a lot, they should get plenty of water. So I've got my fingers crossed for you!

I've tried something similar to rescue a phal, I didn't do it long term and it's now in leca, but it did work for several months while it started to get new roots going.
