Default Picture Perfect Phal!

This is my white Phalaenopsis which I brought to Pittsburgh, PA from Tucson, AZ. I has been my favorite plant since I bought it at Trader Joe's while I lived in Arizona, and it has grown to a giant 20" leafspan. Refusing to skip a flowering period, I have noticed it spikes with every 2 leaves that it grows. And it grows and GROWS wherever it is located: cold vs. warm, dry vs. humid, high light vs. low light.... I have had it for a few years (picture was from late August '07)THE PERFECT orchid in my opinion, and I LOVE it dearly! I have noticed with each blooming, it produces at least one freak flower, either peloric, or in this case, with no lip at all. We all strive for the perfect Phal spray of flowers, but this does add a delightful bonus surprise with each flowering! What will it look like NEXT time?!?!?!?!

PS- my lovely african violet is featured in a photo as well!

Beautiful flowers... it is plants like this, that give so much back to us, that get us really hooked! Congrats on the blooms - I like it that there is always something unexpected to look forward to.

Very nice. One of my three first phals is a white phal like yours. I got it in 2005. I'm still waiting for it to bloom again though. Its looking kinda withered. hehe. Perhaps my media is too dry.

Even my boyfriend likes this Phal, even though he is becoming increasingly concerned about my constantly 'growing' collection...! He likes to put it in his formal livingroom when it blooms!

Another cool thing: If you look at the newest leaf on the Phal, you see two opposite white abrasions on the edge. I discovered some kind of WORMS in the crown, but promptly got rid of them witth a few drops of strong rubbing alcohol. TAKE THAT, WORMS....! I saved my plant from their evil!
