New phal
I went to Home Depot yesterday, and they had all their phals marked down! I found an adorable little one in a 4" pot called Wedding Promenade. Original price was $14.99 and marked down to $6.94. When I went to check out, the price rang up as $5! I would have bought more, but I don't think I really could afford to buy more (and I also want to save space for other cool orchids!). I'll try to post a pic soon. The blossoms are starting to go, so I may cut it to the last node to see if I can get more blossoms.

Haha, thats great Sara! I went to a local supermarket the other day and they had Dendrobiums marked down to $3 each!!! (I think the original price was $25 or something) I was so thrilled, I had to get two of them. They aren't in the best condition I have seen, but they aren't too bad, and I have no doubt that they will do just fine with some warm conditions and lots of moisture. One is called 'Ooh's Blue', which sounds really cool! What is this you say about saving room for other plants?! We all try, I'm sure, but I know we all fail! WalMart has had many cool orchids over the past few months, so I have been buying them in bulk! I was lucky to find Bc. Maikai a few weeks ago, though it was being sold as a Dendrobium... quite a unique find for WalMart! Best of luck with your new Phal! (I too have seen Wedding Promenade at Home Depot, but I have held off because I'm usually broke whenever I go there) Maybe it is time to pick one up, and hopefully I'll have the same luck with the price!!! :-D

Judi - you should come for vacation (I believe you Brits call it holiday). Your pound value is over the US dollar - you could clean up here .. you'll just need your own jet to get them back to the UK ...

Hi all, in Sydney Australia try WoolWorth. It is Walmart of Aus. I just picked up a nice Phal for 23 dollars. If you keep your eye open or get lucky like me, Hehe.
This consignment arrived today from Formosa nursery. So the store clerks had no chance to water it, YaY.
Each leave is about 24 cm and seems to have all the leaves. I haven't had a good look but poked around and seems like no root.

Sorry for the long wait! Here is a pic soon after I got it:
Shortly after I got it, I cut it back to next node, and it is now starting an offset!
