Anyone seen this on phal leaves?

A couple of my phals developed a lighter colored edge of some of the leaves. One phal shows this only on the newest leaf and the other one shows this on a few leaves.
They both used to have leaves of solid green with no lightly colored edge.

Anyone familiar with this?
Is this a normal thing that happens to "old" phals that hit certain age?

Also, in the second picture, there are almost a mottling on the leaf. This is only showing up on one leaf of a phal. This looks quite disturbing to me.

The light colored edge looks like a slight variegation.

I have a mini with the leafs edges like that-I thought i had it to close to the Lights-I moved it now,have to wait and see if it changes .

I have a Phal. Cassandra x equestris with very narrow light margins on the leaves just like that. Its keikis, one of which I've potted up and am enjoying in bloom now, have the same margins. All seem perfectly healthy.

My guess would be variegation, just not pronounced. Have not ever seen virus displayed like that.

I have some of that mottling and as you say it is disturbing. Not sure what it is.

Interesting. My phal amboinensis seedlings have mostly got a light edge to the leaves, but I'd put it down to them being a bit starved in flask (they'd used up nearly every smear of medium!). Have to see how that develops now!

The two phals showing this symptoms are both large flowering hybrids. One white and the other is white with red lip.

I thought verigated leaves are always verigated. Can verigation show up all of a sudden?
So example, sogo vivien I see at stores have all of their leaves with distict yellow edges.

The ones with mottling, do they grow fine??
I have one large white phal whose second from the top leaf showing mottling. (in the second picture)
The leaf that grew after that one, the top leaf, grew without mottling. hmmmm
Now one of the leaves on my Taida Salu is also slightly mottled. very disturbing, as I really like this one.
White one can be replaced easily though.

The one that is showing mottling is Phal. leuddemanina. It seems to be growing fine and is currently blooming from 2 spikes.

I guess I'm the odd ball. It looks like something is chewing at the leaves. They're losing their chlorophyll.
