Default Look what followed me home!

I was in the store last night and walked by the floral section and saw that the phals were on sale, but I dont really like the hybrid phals that they sell in the stores and I like to buy my orchids from growers here in the US, so I started to walk away when my eye caught ahold of this little guy. So anyway he jumped into the cart and come home with me

Here is a pic of the orchid before I did anything to it.

The plant was not to bad some of the roots where white and some where green so I thought that was strange and some of the flowers and buds are coming off and there looked to be this white stuff on the stakes I tryed to take a pic of it but you cant see it very well. One of the bottom leaves has this funny texture to it I dont know why its like that

The plant as you can see it in bloom but I wanted to repot it just to take a good look at the roots and get it in some fresh potting mix, it needed a bigger pot but I did not have one so its a little top heavy but I think it will be ok, here are the pics of it in its new home

Hi. mothorchidgirl; It's good that you repotted the mini.phal. In phots 5, the bark looks like it's starting to decay. and the white stuff looks to be water or fert. salts. Bud drop happens when there moved from one location to another. also stores dont always treat any plants well. Looks like it jumped in your cart in time...James

White on the stakes is probably breakdown of the wood from watering. As for the roots, think the different color is normal. It's probably been in bloom for awhile, so some of the older flowers have started to fade and die.

Geez! I had no idea a phal could pump out that many spikes at once. That's quite the display!

Those roots look quite happy. Very green, hardly any brownish parts. Long, too!

You may lose most of the flowers, but I have a feeling this one will keep doing its best to bloom a LOT.

White roots are fine as long as they are firm. They just have not been exposed to any light. That's why they aren't green.

It's a pretty little thing.

Looks just like the No-ID phal I found Valentine's weekend at my local grocery. Have fun with it!
