Phal. Little sister (equestris x maculata)
My cutie has started blooming again. It bloomed previous summer, so I was a bit surprised when I saw the new spike. Seems to be one of those "let's bloom twice a year" -Phals... Maybe... It might not bloom this summer, only because I wrote that.

This is another cool cross. Great work Mutant. maculata can really do some cool things, and if mine ever decides to stop being persnickety about blooming, I'm going to put it to good use!

Cutsie!!! Mine's starting to bloom as well, got 4 open blooms on it so far. Mine also bloomed last summer, but since it was the first blooming there were only 2 buds (8-9 this time around).

Very, very cute!
Just out of curiousity, did anybody ever wonder why so many Phals are called "brother" or "sister" as part of their name?

"Brother" is in many names because it's the name of a big nursery in Taiwan. I haven't come across many orchids with the word sister in it though.
