Mini-Phals stay in small pot?

I recently purchased 2 mini-phals each in their respective small pots. I really like the way they look and I like the nice pots they are in. As long as I don't over water or otherwise treat them poorly (), can I keep them in their small pots for a while? They are in sphagnum as it seems most are when purchased from stores. Thanks.

pictures would be nice in order for us to better help you....
if you got the plants from a reputable grower they can be placed on the windowsill immediately after you water it; then let it aclimatize to your environment and you repot it maybe a couple of years....but if not: you need to check out the status of the roots and repot....
also: if you are comfortable growing in moss and you have mastered the skewer method of watering=otherwise you can use a regular Phal. mix

I purchased them from a local grocery store in their florist dept. They have very good looking stock - very healthy. Anyway, here is a picture - I am familiar with the skewer method and have used it on these 2. So far, so good. Thanks for input.

I believe they are potted in a thin clear plastic pot then slided into those decorative pots, right?

I buy these every now and then. It's hard to resist the urge when I see nice cute plants at a store.

Well, since you can see how dry the moss is through the clear plastic pot. it is rather easy to monitor the moisture level. just keep them on the drier side to be safe and when it looks almost all dry (you can safely guess by lifting the pot and feel the weight of it) mist heavily on the top of the mix until the moss is moist enough not not dripping wet.
Once the weather warms up considerably, you may water until the moss is completely wet each time you water as the moss dries out fast enough on these small pots during the hot season.

Yours look bigger than teacup phals though.
I normally keep these smaller phals in 3-4 inch pots.
I keep truly small teacup phals in 2-3 pots.
Well, I have one very small mini phal with lots of long roots and that one will go into much bigger pot to accomodate the roots.

I agree - they're hard to resist - really cute. The one on the left is in the plastic see through pot - I purchased it Feb 1 and have only watered it twice. I can run the skewer down along the side of the pot and sort of push it toward the inner part and it still feels damp but not wet. The other one is not in plastic inner pot - I purchased it Dec 13 it has been watered about every 11-12 days. So, you recommend misting heavily but not watering down into moss. Will do. Also, the roots on the yellow one are coming out the top of the pot and look healthy - it is in about a 2.5 inch pot. Sounds like if I can maintain them without root rot, by watering sparingly (especially in cool winter conditions), I can keep them in these small pots for at least a while. I know it depends on growth but perhaps a couple of years (as suggested by Bud in this thread - thanks for that Bud). I'll give it a go! Historically, I'm not a great Phal grower so am hoping for the best. Thanks for your thoughts.
